Cheers London

london1So my time in jolly old London has come to an end. I had a good time all in all. As I write this I am trying to download some of my pictures to my computer, but not having the best of luck. Come to think of it, I am not having the best of luck with technical do dads right now in general. Maybe because I call them do dads? I was trying to laundry and damn if I can figure out the kooky British washing machine combo dryer. Zach told me how to use it, but in classic Alicia style I did something wrong. It seems to wash a lot, but not dry. Oh well. And then there is the IM thing. I finally got my AOL IM running, no thanks to myself though. The person I was IMing had to do everything. Sometimes you feel like everything is working against you…

and then…

You get to the airport on time. You have no trouble at all with security and have just enough brittish money left for a pint of Irish IPA. Maybe the travel gods are on your side after all.

So Alicia, what DID you do in London? Well, since you asked…
I took the tube to the Tate Moden Museum. I walked across the Millennium Bridge and saw some cool art. Inside the museum there were these cool aluminum twisty slides (pictured above) and yes I slid. Oh did I slide! Okay…I didn’t go on the big one, but I wanted too! It was sold out, so I had to do the 3rd story one, but it was fun. At least me and the three year old girl in front of me thought it was fun. I like art you can ride.

After my cultural visit to the Tate, I made my way back to the apartment and decided to have a night out. I went to a Thai place and had some yummy Pho, my first meal of the day (Byron would be proud) and then took my trusty computer to the Prague Cafe. It is a different vibe at night. Everyone sitting around, smoking and chatting. I ordered a pint of Pilsner and checked my email. It was so nice to see emails from all of my friends wishing me well. It really made me feel good about everything. Infact, I can’t imagine doing this without a computer. It would kinda suck.

Well, now I am at the airport waiting to go to Prague. It’s a strange thing traveling alone. The guy who picked me up from the airport when I got here picked me up again today. He said he requested me because I was nice. Neat. I think I will have an easy time making friends, I mean hell – I am really funny. And cute! Let’s not forget cute…and funny! Did I mention funny!?

Well… two hours till I leave for Praha…see you there. And I can’t figure out the pictures…sorry. But when I do…you will see what I see… (spooky)

  1. Ok, so I also forgot to tell you about the crazy wahser/dryer combo thingy! We had one in the flat we rented this summer and boy do they suck! It takes forever to dry anything. Seriously, I think I left clothes in it when we left b/c they were still wet. We were there two weeks and they still weren’t dry!. In a country with so much rain, why no reliable drying? Mysteries of the universe or at least the U.K.Love, Jenn

  3. Alicia,I was laughing when I read about the dryer. I almost broke the damn thing because I couldn’t figure it out. I felt like you had to work for NASA in order to operate it. Anyways, I’m checking your blog daily and really enjoy it. I feel like mine is boring compared to yours, ha ha. When I get back I’m so going to the Tate and getting on that slide! Love,Ana
